(No, I'm not affliated to that organisation but since I don't really know much about that place, apart from a few visits I can't comment, I only saw some of your postings, and your mentioning of prosperity gospel, which didn't sound too positive either.)

I do applaud in your mission to enlightened people when it comes to bible though, for in all honesty, the majority bunch of us probably ain't all that aquainted with the bible to differentiate right from wrong perhaps.

Peace be with you. :)

Re: About

Yup, we do. Thank God that He led you out of those churches, sister. Looks like we do like the same things, heh!

That's my concern for those who attend CHC -- I have a cousin who does and my wife has been giving tuition to another. Both of them are quite like what you described.

Keep in touch, sis. It's been my pleasure making your acquaintance. I'm a Singaporean based in London. I used to attend both CHC and NCC, praise God He opened my eyes and now I'm out of charismatic movement, attending C.Spurgeon's Church in London. I listen a lot to Way of the Master and have been evangelising ever since, and I have so much passion for members in CHC cos CHC doesn't give the correct way to be saved. Ask any CHC member and they'll tell u they are unsure themselves where they go after they die. Anyway, if u do evangelism in Singapore, I really wanna get in touch with like-minded biblical Christians who are passionate about the lost. I'll be returning home to Singapore for holiday in dec 08, so pls do get in touch, cheers!

maria

Re: About

@Berean Wife -

Thank you for visiting, sis.

Truth be told, I haven't logged in to BlogCatalog for the longest time so I didn't know why I logged in today and chose to check out some new blogs, "chancing" on yours in the process.

I'm glad that you're refreshed both in the spirit and, hopefully by now, in the body.

God bless, and Shalom!

Re: About

Thank you for the kind comments. He has a chapter (I think it is his testimony) in a book published by the ICR people. His strange first name helps...

And yes, I do remember his "spitting" problem.

He once told a classmate of mine in the Staff Office that she was going to Hell unless she trusted in the Lord! She was shocked, but then, it was much needed. She still remembers this incident even till today (>10 years ago) - so do I!

His small textbook on hydrophonics is still the gold standard worldwide.

I wished I had known him better when I was at SP.

Hi Vincent,

You know my reasons for disappearing... He taught biology at SAJC when I was there in the late 80's, and was also the discipline master.

My only brush with him was being lectured by him for an hour or so, LOL! He caught me and a mate for simply signaling to each other in the library. Unfortunately, I got a worse scolding than my mate because I was in the student council.

To be honest, I don't remember much of that lecture, except that he left a lot of spit on my uniform (he tends to dispense a lot of that when he speaks in agitated tones).
