    Welcome back! I wasn't fully aware why you went away, so I'm glad you weren't permanently away at the Reserves. I had thought maybe this was your new job and that I wouldn't be seeing you online anymore.

    @ Nathan W. Bingham:

    Thanks, brother! I'll never ever join the Army on a full-time basis; I am not one who loves regimental life. ;)

    Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
    With the cross of Jesus going on before.
    Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
    Forward into battle see His banners go!

    Like a mighty army moves the church of God;
    Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
    We are not divided, all one body we,
    One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.

    Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
    But the church of Jesus constant will remain.
    Gates of hell can never gainst that church prevail;
    We have Christ’s own promise, and that cannot fail.

    Welcome back!

    Welcome back to "the real world!" I just finished my two month mobilization last week and for me it is bittersweet to return to "normal." Reserve duty isn't for me as enjoyable as active duty, but I love the people, the activity, the military subculture, etc.

    That said, I can't say that I love it as much as I used to...and I'm glad to be done for a while (grin).

    You're a rare one, Sir. I'd say I'm no big fan of field exercises and such, but the people, friendships and especially the camaraderie are certainly what I enjoy and will miss most when I'm done in a couple of years.

    Nice to have you back Isaiah!

    My hubby was in the R.A.A.F for nearly ten years. I remember very well what it was like when he returned home after being away on exercise....not being able to shower and clean himself and roughing it up in the Australian outback in the middle of summer for a week or so....

    He was on the nose.... Phooooeeewww!!! His uniform walked itself to the washing machine.

    Other times during winter he remembers sleeping in a hootchie/swag thing, he reckons he has never been so cold in his life.

    All good fun though :)

    Dude! I look forward to seeing some of the stuff that you mentioned. I'd love to hear about these conversation that you had, and hope to see some of the new stuff that you've been pondering! The time away is refreshing sometimes, and usually helps to get some new direction...

    Welcome back! You rock dude!

    @ Vee:

    Thanks, Vee!

    I've heard the Outback is like, one of the worst places in the world to go without a shower for a day, much less a week! Can just imagine the effects on your nose when he got back, ha ha!
